Google+ Local Replaces Google Places
Google has replaced Google Places pages with a new local page in Google+.
The roll out started today. When you request more information for a Google Places search engine result, you are now redirected to a Google+ page.
What should our clients be doing? Make sure your business is listed in the right categories. And ask your clients for reviews. This seems to have a big impact on search results in the new Google+ Local.
Here is Google’s official announcement of Google+ Local. Google says “If you are a business owner, you should continue to manage your information in Google Places for Business.” although this will no doubt change as G+ pages will enable more social interaction with your customers.
Here is the SearchEngineLand description of the changes in the new Google+ Local.
